MSA Officers Attends 1st Inter- Collegiate Leadership Peace Camp
MFive (5) top officers of MAFI Scholars Association was given an opportunity from Cotabato Provincial Government to attend the 1st Gov. LalaTaliño-Mendoza Inter-Collegiate Leadership Peace Camp held from February 27 to March 1, 2012 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Shrine, Binoligan, Kidapawan City.
The five MSA Officers led by their President Deejay Bacag, Corky Eting, FeveeElicot, Jonel Ismael and JericOndot who interacted with some 50 student leaders selected from different colleges and universities of the province.
The camp entitled “Leadership, Intercultural, Building Bridges” took place in three days which sidelined the actual audience of the participants in the State of the Province Address (SOPA) of Gov. Mendoza held last February 28, 2012 at Amas, Provincial Gymn.
The first day of the camp was set forth to the personal profiling and self discoveries which led to deeper understanding of the students inner self.
The second day was focused in environmental scanning by understanding cultural diversities and the role of government for the youth. An input on National situationeer about the plight of the youth in the current days was also discussed in the camp.
An on-site visitation to Energy Development Corporation’s Mindanao Geothermal Plant followed by the lecturette and discussion about the environment, climate change and some environmental issues affecting the globe.
Leadership efficacies was the special focus during the final day, recounting that good communication as an effective tool to effective leadership. Towards the end of the camp, Gov. Mendoza challenged the leaders-participants to help the government build a strong nation with lasting peace
