As agreed upon during the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the MAFI-assisted Secondary Schools Association (MAFI-ASSA) last July 25, 2008 at Ricardo Ipong Memorial National High School, the association’s common projects for School Year 2008-09 have been procured by MAFI.
Seventeen units of Canon Powershot A470 digital cameras were purchased from Blue Chips, Kidapawan City. The cost of the 17 digital camera sets totals P158,780.00. As agreed, portion of the funds needed for this project shall come from the member-schools unexpended Student Emergency Fund last school year amounting to P88,000.00 and the balance shall be deducted from Parent-Teachers-Community Association Fund for this school year, shared at P9,340.00 per school.
Also, 17 sets of Look, Listen and Learn VCDs were purchased by MAFI from the Listen and Learn Publishing, Manila. The VCD sets have the following titles: Reading Made Easy; English for Beginners; English Grammar Made Easy; Our Amazing Solar System; Musical Addition; Fun with Subtraction; Musical Multiplication; and Division Made Easy. The share of each member-school in the cost of the VCD set is P8,000.00, which shall be deducted from the Publication Fund for this school year.
MAFI-ASSA is the organization of schools benefiting from the Foundation’s High School Financial Assistance Project (HSFAP). HSFAP assistance amounts to P235.00 per student per year. This amount is divided for the following miscellaneous fees: PTCA; SBO; Athletics; Testing Materials and Publication; Student Emergency Fund: Identification Card and Insurance. For School Year 2008-09, total enrollment in the 17 member-schools is 5,912.
