MAFI Bags Anvil Awards from Public Relations Society of the Philippines

In an unprecedented first recognition by an external entity, MAFI is proudest as it received three (3) Anvil Awards for programs and tools categories during the 55th Anvil Awards ceremonies sponsored by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) held on February 28, 2020, at the Manila Hotel. MAFI has been supported by the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) through the Environmental and Tribal Welfare Trust Fund (ETWTF), and the submission of entries to the award-giving body was made possible through the EDC Community Relations and Public Relations units.

Along with EDC as the top CSR organization garnering the most number of awards in various categories, MAFI’s two Gold Anvils for its programs for the indigenous peoples of Mt. Apo and a Silver Anvil for its publication, the 25th-anniversary coffee table book, were received by MAFI’s Chairman Atty. Allan V. Barcena, EDC-CSR and PR Head, and  Mr. Armando C. Pacudan, Executive Director of MAFI, together with other top officials of EDC CSR and PR units. The 55th Anvil Awarding was for PR entries implemented from October 2018 to October 2019.

Anvil Awards, presented annually, is the symbol of excellence in Public Relations. The Anvil is awarded to outstanding public relations programs, tools, and practitioners after careful screening by select PR professionals and judging by a distinguished multi-sectoral jury.  The PRSP, the country’s premier organization for public relations for professionals, is a non-stock, non-profit organization established on February 19, 1957, by leading PR professionals in the country.
